Our Powered Respirator Protective Suit (PRPS) is a one piece gas-tight chemical protective suit for use by emergency response personnel after a CBRN incident.

The suit is manufactured using a high-performance, seven-layer, nonwoven, chemical barrier fabric that is also lightweight.

Technical Specifications

Gas-tight Type 1A CBRN protection, certified to EN943-2:2019 (ET) and SOLAS 1974/1988 for emergency response and marine applications.

Respiratory System

Respirator Type: Battery-powered air filter unit (3M™ Jupiter™ or CleanAIR® Chemical 2F depending on generation)
Filters: Twin JRF-85 gas & particle filters / CleanAIR® CBRN (A3B2E2K2P) filters
Filter Protection: Chemical and biological warfare agents, hazardous particulates
Battery Duration: 1 hour operational use + 15 minutes for decontamination
VDU: Visual display unit mounted inside suit at base of visor
Alarm: Audible alarm integrated into respiratory system
Hood Design: Loose-fitting, no tight-fitting face piece required

Fabric: DuPont™ Tychem® TK, 7-layer, nonwoven, chemical barrier
Zip: Heavy-duty gas-tight chest zip with double external storm flap + hook & loop fastener
Visor: Semi-rigid laminated visor for clear, undistorted vision
Gloves: Dual glove system, Silver Shield inner gloves + Neoprene outer gloves
Cuffs: Gas-tight locking cuff system
Boots: Permanently attached Hazmax™ chemical safety boots

Chemical Warfare Agents: Full protection, CWA permeation tested
Biological Warfare Agents: Full protection via twin CBRN filters
Radioactive Particulates: Protected via fabric and filter system
NATO Standard: NATO D/103:1991 compliant
Electrical Safety: IP53 per EN60529 (dust and spray water protection)
Reusability: Uncontaminated or decontamination-guaranteed suits can be re-used following gas-tight re-test and re-certification
