Space Suit

We are proud to have developed India’s first engineering model for the astronaut crew escape suit, widely known as ‘The Space Suit.’

Our continuous efforts and advancements have further enhanced our capabilities, allowing us to now manufacture space suits with even greater proficiency.

Key Features

Engineered for the most critical moments in human spaceflight, where failure is not an option.

Emergency Egress Protection

Designed specifically for crew escape scenarios during launch and re-entry, the suit provides full-body protection during rapid depressurisation, thermal exposure, and high-G force events.

Life Support Integration

Integrated with onboard and portable life support systems to maintain a controlled internal environment, regulating oxygen supply, pressure, temperature, and humidity for the crew member during emergency operations.

Mobility & Ergonomic Design

Engineered to allow full range of motion for crew operations within the capsule while maintaining structural integrity under extreme pressure differentials and thermal conditions.

Indigenous Design & Manufacturing

Developed in collaboration with ISRO as India's first engineering model of an Astronaut Crew Escape Suit, entirely designed, prototyped, and manufactured indigenously at MAAN's facility in Vadodara.

Technical Specifications

Engineered for reliable performance across river, flood, and coastal rescue environments.

  • Floor Type: Inflatable rigid floorboard, stable and comfortable underfoot
  • Keel Design: Twin inflatable keel for stability and manoeuvrability
  • Protection: Fender guard and rubbing guard fitted as standard
  • Material: High-durability coated fabric
  • Motor Compatibility: 30 HP short shaft outboard motor (2 or 4 stroke)
  • Alternative Operation: Towing, line-controlled, or paddle operation, motor not required
  • Shallow Water Operation: Operable in very shallow water without motor fitted
  • Inflation Methods: Multiple inflation methods supported
  • Stability: Wide beam with twin keel for lateral stability in choppy water
  • Wake: Minimal wake design, reduces riverbank damage during rescue operations
  • Current Performance: Capable of making headway in strong currents
  • Weight: Lightweight, carriable to launch point by rescue crew
  • Packed Size: Compact, fits in standard rescue and emergency response vehicles
  • Storage: Deflates and stows in carrying bag
  • Deployment Time: Rapid inflation and deployment in the field
